COMMUNIQUÉ ON THE SIGNING OF PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT FOR THE SUPPLY AND SALE OF MAIZE UNDER THE “SUSTAINABLE MAIZE PRODUCTION AND SUPPLY INITIATIVE”
In a significant step toward enhancing food security and agricultural value chain development in Sierra Leone, the Community Transformation Network (CTN-SL) and SUMA & RAZIA Agricultural Organization have officially signed a Partnership Agreement under the “Sustainable Maize Production and Supply Initiative.”
The agreement establishes a strategic collaboration for the supply and sale of maize, aimed at improving local production, supporting farmers, and ensuring consistent market access for maize products. Through this partnership, SUMA and Razia Agricultural Organization will serve as the primary supplier of maize and other local commodities, while CTN will oversee marketing, distribution, and community-level sales within its operational networks.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, representatives from both organizations expressed optimism about the initiative’s potential to strengthen agricultural productivity, empower rural farmers, and promote sustainable livelihoods across communities.
Mr. Faried s Kamara, Executive Director of CTN-SL, emphasized that “this partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to transform communities through agriculture-driven development and to create economic opportunities for smallholder farmers.”
In his statement, Mr. Abdulai suma, of SUMA and Razia Agricultural Organization, noted that “the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to agricultural sustainability, quality production, and mutual growth.”
The Sustainable Maize Production and Supply Initiative will focus on capacity building, access to quality inputs, value chain integration, and market expansion — ensuring that maize production in Sierra Leone remains both profitable and sustainable.
The ceremony concluded with both parties reaffirming their dedication to transparency, accountability, and long-term collaboration for the benefit of farmers and consumers nationwide.
